It seems that even celebrities and billionaires aren’t immune to the allure of a good meme war.

In a recent Twitter (or should we say X) showdown, Elon Musk, the CEO of X), initiated a meme battle with iconic rapper and actor Ice Cube.

This unexpected clash began when Musk posted a silly meme poking fun at Ice Cube, which the rapper quickly countered with his own meme, taking a dig at Musk and the current state of X.

Musk’s initial meme featured a split image with the caption, “Remember Ice Cube? This is him now, feel old yet?” On the left was a picture of Ice Cube, and on the right, was a glass of water. Interestingly, this meme has been circulating on the internet since at least 2014.

Ice Cube wasted no time in responding to Musk’s playful jab.

He quote-responded Musk’s meme and shared his own creation, captioned, “Remember X? This is it now, feel stupid yet?”

His meme juxtaposed the old Twitter logo with an image of a dumpster fire, a clever commentary on the perceived decline of X since Musk took the reins.

This meme battle coincided with changes made by X, such as moving the location of quote messages into a sub-menu, making it slightly more challenging for users to engage with Musk’s posts.

Musk, who is also the owner of Tesla and Starlink Sattelite, got into a much bigger feud this week after the billionaire asserted that Taiwan was an integral part of China during his virtual participation in the All-in Summit in Los Angeles.

Musk also compared Taiwan’s relationship with China to that of Hawaii with the United States.

Taiwan’s foreign minister, Joseph Wu, hit back at the billionaire in his own platform by posting a message that read “Listen up, Taiwan is not part of the PRC [and] certainly not for sale!”
