Taiwan’s presidential candidates hold televised debate – Focus Taiwan Feedzy

 

Taipei, Dec. 30 (CNA) A televised debate featuring Taiwan’s three candidates in the Jan. 13 presidential election kicked off at the Public Television Service (PTS) headquarters at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The 150-minute debate is expected to see Vice President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) of the main opposition Kuomintang (KMT), and Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) spar over cross-strait issues and foreign and domestic policies.

The candidates will make statements first before taking five questions from media outlets, and will then have the chance to interrogate each other.
