Tsai conveys condolences to Hawaii over wildfire disaster – Focus Taiwan Feedzy

Taipei, Aug. 11 (CNA) President Tsai Ing-wen (???) on Friday expressed her condolences to those affected by the Hawaii wildfires that have so far killed 53 people and destroyed thousands of structures and homes.

In addition to expressing her concerns, the president has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey the government’s willingness to provide any necessary assistance to the United States, Presidential Office spokesperson Lin Yu-chan (???) quoted Tsai as saying in a press statement.

The president hopes for a quick recovery and a return to normal life in Hawaii, Lin added.

Tsai has also requested that Taiwan’s representative office in Hawaii monitor and support Taiwanese nationals caught up in the disaster.

In early August, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. island state, affecting the islands of Maui and Hawaii, with the wind-driven fires prompting evacuations and causing widespread damage.
