BEIJING — The Chinese government said Friday that it will lift the import ban on Taiwanese-raised grouper in a move seen as a favor to Taiwan’s Beijing-friendly opposition Kuomintang party just weeks before the island’s general election.
The Taiwan Affairs Office under China’s State Council cited an appeal from the KMT when explaining the move.
