States » NorthPosted at: Oct 14 2023 9:47PMDharamshala, Oct 14 (UNI) An MoU has been signed between a delegation of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) , presently on your to Taiwan, with the Taipei University according to which Indian and Taiwanese students and faculty members will have the opportunity to engage in exchange programs where they can share their knowledge and experience and can explore new educational perspectives and expand their intellectual horizons.
Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Central University, Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal who represented the Association of Indian Universities on the invitation of Mr. Mon Chi Liao, Minister of Education of Taiwan, visited Taiwan and completed a week long tour of Taiwan for educational coordination between Indian and Taiwanese universities .
This delegation included senior vice chancellors of six Indian universities including Secretary of the AIU, Dr. Pankaj Mittal.
The delegation visited different universities and got acquainted with the education system there.
It was organized by AIU in coordination with USTM, University, Meghalaya.
Prof. SP Bansal told UNI on phone that this exchange of faculty members and students brings together experiences between Indian and Taiwanese institutions.
He said that this will enrich and promote global outlook and apart from this, this MoU will also provide joint research to accelerate educational development. He said that it looked at student stipends, faculty training and technical exchange
which will lead to joint degree programs, research and exchanges between universities of India and Taiwan.
He said that Coordination can be established for programs.
Vice President of Taipei University, Prof. C.K. Yang also supported the idea. .
Prof.Bansal, further told UNI that the delegation is also interested in visiting India and they want to get acquainted with Indian culture.
Bansal suggested the members of the delegation that they must visit Himachal, to know the unique culture of Himachal along with India and will also be able to become familiar with the natural environment which will open doors for tourism in Himachal .
The delegation from India on tour to Taiwan was led by Prof. G.D. Sharma, Indian University
president of the union. In this Prof. M. Pant, Vice Chancellor, Assam University, Silchar, Prof. Neelima Gupta, Vice Chancellor, H.S. Gaur University, Sagar, Prof. Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor, CSJM University Kanpur
Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina, M.S. Ramaiya University and Prof. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary AIU.
This delegation visited National Central University on 9 October and Singh Hua University on 12 October.
During the visit the members had in-depth discussions on Indian and Taiwanese educational activities and today visit Yang Ming University.
