Tainan, Sept. 12 (CNA) A night party open to the public will be held at Tainan Air Base on Oct. 8 as part of Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day celebrations this year, the Tainan City government said Tuesday.
The event will host a musical concert featuring performances by a slew of artists and bands, including Taiwanese rapper Aquaman, female singer Enno Cheng (鄭宜農) and Musou Band, a traditional Chinese instrumental and pop music group.
Surrounding the concert area will be a display of Taiwan’s Indigenous Defense Fighter jets, C-130H Hercules transport aircraft and various military weapons and hardware, it said.
Tainan Air Base is normally off limits to the public, therefore the party will be an opportunity for people to visit the military site, Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) was quoted as saying in the release.
According to the city government, the number of visitors will be limited to 1,500, with online registration (https://reurl.cc/V46oLR) to start from Wednesday to Sept. 23.
People who sign up for the party will need to bring their ROC national identification card, and board shuttle buses at P4 parking lot near Chimei Museum on Wenxian Road from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 8, from where they will be transported to the venue, it said.
