TAIPEI — Having seen the power of China’s cognitive warfare firsthand, Taiwan now has a system in place to have civic organizations watch for disinformation spreading online.

These groups, driven by a sense of urgency, are diligently checking suspicious online content to protect the integrity of the island’s upcoming presidential election — a mechanism that the U.S. and Europe hope to learn from.
