Taiwan, Czechia ink MOU to assist in rebuilding Ukraine: MOFA – Focus Taiwan Feedzy

Taipei, Nov. 10 (CNA) Taiwan and the Czech Republic on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at aiding in the reconstruction of Ukraine, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said.

The MOU, which marked the first collaborative project between Taiwan and Czechia to aid Ukraine, will focus on the rebuilding of key infrastructure to improve Ukrainians’ quality of life, MOFA said.

Mobile water management systems that filter water and a medium-sized cogeneration facility to improve energy efficiency will be constructed during the project.

Regarding the water management program, 20 percent of the required equipment — primarily electric pumps — will be purchased from Taiwan, demonstrating the government’s active assistance in helping Taiwanese businesses explore opportunities in the reconstruction of Ukraine, according to MOFA.

The MOU was inked during a cyber-ceremony attended by Ke Liang-ruey (柯良叡), Taiwan’s representative to the Czech Republic, and David Steinke, who heads the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, the ministry said.
