Taiwan donates additional 38 emergency vehicles to Ukraine – Focus Taiwan Feedzy

Taipei, Oct. 30 (CNA) A second batch of 38 retired emergency response vehicles donated by Taiwan were shipped last week to Ukraine via Poland after the first batch of 48 vehicles was sent in July to support Ukraine’s war effort.

Taiwan intends to donate a total of 103 retired emergency response vehicles, including ambulances, fire engines and wheelchair-accessible vans, from across Taiwan to assist the war-torn country.

Of the over 100 retired vehicles, 70 were recently refurbished by Pai Tsan-jung (白璨榮), a Taiwanese businessman in Changhua County, including 38 that left Taiwan in 19 containers on Oct. 27.

Pai, head of Shenkang Township-based Sun Jen Textile Co., said the 38 emergency vehicles and other humanitarian aid, such as medical supplies and diapers, were shipped from Taichung Port and should reach Poland in 50 days, where Ukrainians will take them home.

The remaining vehicles are set to be shipped in November.

The first batch of 48 Taiwan-funded emergency rescue vehicles were delivered to Ukraine via Poland in September and have been used on Ukraine’s front lines.
