V air (Taipei Taoyuan) inaugurated commercial operations on Wednesday, December 17, with flights from Taipei Taoyuan to Bangkok Don Mueang. Current operations are on-board an A321-200 (sl) sourced from parent TransAsia Airways (Taipei Sung Shan). Additional flights to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Siem Reap, Cambodia, are expected to launch early next year.
The start-up’s debut comes roughly 10 weeks after that of rival, Tigerair Taiwan (IT, Taipei Taoyuan) – a joint venture between China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) and Tigerair (Singapore Changi).
