According to LA Eater, Tai Tong Food & Beverage Group, a well-known publicly traded restaurant conglomerate in Taiwan, is set to expand its presence to Los Angeles next year. Their flagship chain, Thai Town Cuisine (瓦城泰式料理), is gearing up to open its doors in Century City next July.
The group has ambitious plans to extend its footprint to an additional five locations in Southern California by the end of 2024, and an impressive target of 100 U.S. locations by 2030.
Tai Tong Food & Beverage Group also features brands like Very Thai, 1010 Hunan Cuisine, BHeart Noodles, Shann Rice Bar, Yue Thai Grill, Yabi Kitchen, and Ten Ten Hunan Bistro.
Established in 1990 by Charles Hsu, the conglomerate currently manages 145 restaurants in Taiwan, each bearing distinctive names such as Very Thai Restaurant, 1010 Hunan Cuisine, Very Thai Noodles and Shann Rice Bar.
Renowned for its best-selling shrimp pancake, grilled pork neck, water spinach, and deep-fried fish named after a prince from the Chakri dynasty, Tai Town Cuisine has gained quite a reputation. In a related development, Mini Yeah, a Chinese chain of Thai restaurants, also recently opened a branch in Temple City this August.
