Taiwanese singer Eric Chou is officially a dad!
Chou, 28, and his wife, former news anchor Dacie Chao, announced via social media on Sunday (Aug 13) that they have welcomed their first child, a daughter.
His post was accompanied by a photo of his newborn baby laying in a white crib with a bunny plush toy by her side.
In a heartwarming letter on Instagram, Chou described the birth of his daughter as “the most wonderful thing that has happened” to him and his wife, adding that they “are completely (and) utterly in love” with her.
“I love singing to you every morning, and mummy loves to stare at you. We surrender to your every move, and remember your every touch.
“You cry a lot now, but we love your voice. So keep crying, keep smiling and we will be there for you every step of the way,” said the singer of the hit album, What Love Has Taught Us.
At press time, Chou’s post has received over 159,100 likes and 2,200 comments – with many fans and celebrities joining in to extend their congratulations.
Chou’s older brother, singer-songwriter Alex, 29, also commented: “Uncle also loves you. Grow up happily and healthily.”
Chou and Chao, 34, started dating in March 2018. They broke up in October 2020 but rekindled their romance in June 2021.
Last October, Chou revealed that he had proposed to his beau on a hotel balcony in Europe in March that year.
The singer’s manager also confirmed that the couple had registered their marriage in late 2022.
Chou announced earlier in March that he was expecting a baby with his wife, but kept the child’s gender under wraps.
