Taipei, Oct. 23 (CNA) Talent Taiwan, a service center dedicated to recruiting foreign professionals and helping them get acclimated to life in Taiwan, will be established on Nov. 1, the National Development Council (NDC) said Monday.

The recruitment service center will be an extension of the Taiwan Employment Gold Card Office, and provide a one-stop service for gold card holders and other foreign professionals who come to live and work in Taiwan, the NDC said.

Aside from recruiting foreign professionals outside the Gold Card program, the center will help them on issues related to living in Taiwan and their children’s education.

A total of 8,121 employment Gold Cards have been issued as of the end of August since it was first introduced in 2018, the NDC said.

Meanwhile, the NDC also announced during a committee meeting Monday that the Ministry of Labor will officially establish in November an employment service center for the retention of migrant workers in Taiwan.

The purpose of the center, it said, will be to strengthen the promotion of policies related to the retention of skilled migrant workers and match jobs with workers.
