According to Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA), the two people who were injured as a result of the Typhoon were travelling in a van, when a tree fell on the vehicle. They suffered injuries but were conscious and taken to hospital, it added.
The storm made landfall in the southern coastal township of Donghe at about 3:40 p.m. local time, according to the weather bureau.
According to Taipower, the state electricity provider, more than 9,300 households in Taitung and Hualien counties have lost power as of 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, reported CNN.

DRI intercepts foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs. 6.5 crore
DRI Ahmedabad intercepted an import consignment at Mundra port. During the examination of the consignment, officers noticed that some packages contained foreign-origin Cigarettes. The majority of these foreign-origin cigarettes were bearing the markings “Made in Turkey”. A total of Rs 32.5 lakhs of these sticks were seized under Panchanama proceedings. G20 Summit to affect services of over 300 intercity, express trains
The Northern Railway has released a list of more than 300 trains whose services will be impacted due to the G20 Summit to be held in Delhi on September 9 and 10. Keeping in view the advisory issued for security arrangements, these trains have been either cancelled or diverted to other routes or stations temporarily between Sep 8 and 11, an official statement said. According to the Northern Railway, services of 207 trains have been terminated, terminals of 15 trains changed and routes of six trains diverted. Besides, 70 trains, including Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani, Tejas Rajdhani Hazrat Nizamuddin, Varanasi-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani among others, have been given additional stoppage stations to minimise passenger discomfort, it said.
