TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Due to Typhoon Koinu (??), counties in southern Taiwan and outer islands have declared at least partial school and office closures.
The following areas will close offices and schools due to the typhoon as of Wednesday (Oct. 4):
Yunlin County
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Work and classes canceled on Thursday (Oct. 5).
Chiayi City
Work and classes canceled on Thursday.
National Chia-Yi Industrial Vocational High School: Work as usual but classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday
Chiayi County
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Work and classes canceled on Thursday.
Tainan City
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Work and classes canceled on Thursday.
Kaohsiung City
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Work and classes canceled on Thursday.
Pingtung County
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Shihzih Township, Fangshan Township, Checheng Township, Hengchun Township, Manzhou Township, Peony Township: Work and classes canceled Wednesday afternoon.
Hualien County
Work and classes canceled from 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Fengbin Township: Work and classes canceled from 4 p.m.
Taitung County
